The 4-speed manual transmission became an available option after May of 1957. A photo of the matching block stamping F702EL is shown below, displaying the Flint (F) production code, July 02 build date (702), and the 283 horsepower (EL) specification. The engine is correctly dated to the car and was rebuilt in 2014. Featuring a Rochester mechanical fuel injection, the rebuilt 283ci V8 was rated by Chevrolet at 283 horsepower and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission in this car. The odometer currently displays 1,963 miles and was reset at the time of restoration. The car was optioned from the factory with a heater and the AM Wonder bar signal seeking radio. Detailed photos of the gauges, switchgear, and materials are provided in the gallery below. The interior has been refreshed with new upholstery and carpets in the correct red color. Note the fuel injection badging on the body-color coves. The 15 steel wheels have factory spinner hubcaps and wear tubeless whitewall tires. The new black soft top is shown raised above and displays a clear rear backlight and no apparent rips or tears.

The fiberglass body was removed from the frame and repainted in its proper Onyx Black during the early 1990s restoration. This C1 Fuelie is now offered with a clean California title and several photos documenting the restoration process, as well as receipt and invoices from the restoration and engine rebuild. The car was judged by the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) in 1995 and received a Top Flight award, while additional recognition included a Chevy Vettefest Silver Spinner Award the same year.
